After returning from a 10 day holiday to find the power out and the contents of the fridge and freezers ruined, I decided to look for some kind of alarm/alert product and came across iSocket. I was delighted with the service. Truly a quality product. Now if I get a text to say the power is off I can call my sister to investigate. Impressive!

You want to get back home in a good mood, don’t you?
This looks like an awesome device - for instance if you are alerted of a power cut, you ring your power company. If no faults can be traced, you can bet someone has cut your power for evil reasons. Or maybe you go out a lot and forget to turn on your electric blanket. Send a text and you’ll come home to a nice warm bed. You can even control the lights when you’re away.

This device is amazing. Two years ago we lost $4000 when the GFI tripped and the irrigation system stopped working. This device will text you whenever power is interrupted. Other solutions sound an alarm which you need to hear if you want to respond - we were away for three months! It also allows you to turn anything on or off remotely.

We have a cryostat that needs electricity to stay cold. If it loses power for a period of time, condensation forms, then freezes and causes problems with the motor. So (1) we need to know that electrical power has been lost, and (2) we want to have the option to turn the machine off remotely. The fact that our equipment could incur very expensive damage due to power interruption, and we wouldn't even know until we came in the next day - is unacceptable. This solution gives us added peace of mind. The strategy of having an inexpensive SIM card to provide text communication makes a lot of sense to us. Thanks for developing the product!

I now have a system in place to notify me of a power failure in the office located at the rear of my property. My issue was that the power to the office and outbuildings occasionally tripped the fuse without me knowing. My first concern was damage to my expensive Mac hard drive if it should switch off. Even with a UPS, because I didn't know that the power was off, the battery would be flat and the Mac would switch off regardless. The second issue was the freezer in my outhouse - all my frozen goods could defrost. Now I get notifications of a power failure so I can turn the power back on before the UPS battery fails and before my frozen items defrost!

We find iSocket very useful on remote IT services where a locked up computer can only be fixed by a power cycle . When working with international sites this is far cheaper than getting a flight to press a switch.
